What memory speed do these servers run at?
With four ECC modules for 128 GB, AM5 runs DDR5 at 3600 MT/s — the platform’s rated speed with two modules per channel. It is the right trade-off for capacity, and latency-sensitive workloads rarely notice.
What is the difference between the 7950X and the 9950X?
Same core count and boost clock. The 9950X uses Zen 5 cores with higher IPC and a full 512-bit AVX-512 datapath; the 7950X (Zen 4) is the value choice.
Can I get more than 128 GB?
The 9950X models can be ordered with 192 GB (4 × 48 GB ECC). AMD rates the Ryzen 7000 series for 128 GB, so the 7950X stays at that.
